Footage demonstrates how ill-equipped Cold War-era combat vehicles are in taking on the modern battlefield's drone threat as a quadcopter drops a modified 40mm grenade onto a Russian BTR resulting in its destruction.
The grenade doesn't even land inside an open hatch, but detonates on the thinly armored topside. The 40mm grenade is designed with a shaped charge, so it is certainly capable of cutting steel, but to see the vehicle commence to a fiery self destruction as a result of a single knock makes one wonder if troops wouldn't be better off riding in lighter and faster pickup trucks.
