Five Palestinians were killed, including two young boys, when parachutes from a US aid drop failed to fully deploy, resulting in crushed civilians. An additional 11 people were reportedly injured in the incident as well.
The drop took place in northern Gaza's al Shati refugee camp, midday on Mar. 8, 2024. Palestinians have criticized the US air drops as they claim the food isn't acceptable to their Halal religious standards. The UN and other aid agencies have suspended aid deliveries via truck as Palestinians were violently attacking, and in some cases murdering, the aid workers.
