82nd Airborne Drop Mortars on Daesh in Mosul

Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne provide fire support for the Iraqi Military, Kurdish Peshmerga, and members of the PMU as they push into Mosul to defeat the Islamic State.

Little known fact, as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, members of the United States Army and United States Marine Corps were on the ground to provide indirect fire support for the Kurds and Iraqis as they pushed the Islamic State out of existence. This footage was recorded during the Battle of Mosul, and it shows members of the 82nd Airborne operating an 81mm mortar system in direct support of combat operations inside of Mosul.
