Another Day, Another Downed Reaper In Yemen

This footage, released by a Houthi media outlet in Yemen, shows the shootdown and subsequent wreckage of a US-owned MQ-9 Reaper drone. This shootdown reportedly occurred early in the morning of 30 September 2024, as part of Houthi efforts to escalate their operations in response to Israeli military actions. The United States has, thus far, not confirmed or commented upon the loss of an aircraft. However, this is the latest of several Reapers being shot down over Yemen in the last year. The Houthis have been targeting and downing MQ-9s with such efficiency that it has been suggested that the US is deliberately using and depleting Houthi assets to diminish their aging MQ-9 fleet, with some of the drones being near 20 years old.
