Arma 3 Footage Posed as Khartoum Combat Gets Half Million Views on Twitter

Footage recorded in the popular military simulation game Arma 3 showing the shootdown of an attack style aircraft has amassed nearly a half million views on Twitter today under the Khartoum hashtag.

I don't think I need to insult the intelligence of any of our regular Funker530 viewers with this one. If you're seeing this circulating on Twitter today, please call it out. I believe the intent of the original poster was to make a joke about the fighting in Khartoum, but it's important to remember that real people are on the ground fighting and dying in that region, and there are tens of thousands of civilians caught in the crossfire with absolutely nowhere else to go.

The video itself was recorded in the Bohemia Interactive video game titled Arma 3 which is built in the Real Virtuality engine. The engine is also used in the VBS4 simulator which is designed to allow commanders to mock up entire battlefields so that their troops can maneuver through a digital version of a real life operation or objective.

Also, I love you all to death, but please stop emailing me these. The only reason I blogged this one is because somehow it managed to get a half-million views on Twitter since April 15th.
