A gang shootout occurred on August 6, 2021 at a small convenient store in Charlotte, North Carolina, after one group of gang members ambushed the other from the bush's. On August 13, 2021, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police released the surveillance footage, captured by the gas stations CCTV cameras.
As the footage begins, the first group of gang members are seen exiting the B & K Gas and More, headed away from the building. Nearing the 0:35 timestamp of the footage, the group can be seen, turning over their shoulder and looking back at the store front. With the second group of gang members now exiting the store front, the first group is spotted, taking cover in the bush's just outside the gas stations parking lot, presumably getting ready to ambush them.
Upon reaching their vehicle, the second group seems to have reasonable suspicion of the first group, as they stare on edge in their direction. Seconds later, both groups begin exchanging multiple rounds. Before law enforcement officers arrived, both parties involved fled the scene. When CMPD detectives got to the area, they found numerous casings on the ground and bullet holes into the building.
To law enforcements knowledge, no individuals, including innocent bystanders were injured during this incident. As of August 12, 2021, CMPD investigators are looking for leads on the fugitives. They are offering cash rewards for anyone who has leading information on the fugitives. Please contact 704-334-1600 or submit information to your local law enforcement office.
