Chinese UN Contingent Watches Hezbollah Launch Missiles In Lebanon

This footage shows Chinese Peacekeepers under UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon) watching impassively and doing nothing as Hezbollah missile crews launch attacks into Israel a comparatively short distance away. It should be noted that the Chinese element are largely engineers, and are not there for combative purposes. However, there is palpable irony in signage that says China, and thereby the UN, is there "for peace" while doing absolutely nothing to stop the attack, either for the Israeli citizens or the Lebanese at risk of reprisal. United Nations peacekeeping operations have drawn, and continue to draw, heavy criticism for a lack of action or efficacy.
