Body worn camera footage released by the Bakersfield Police Department captures the moment a foot chase turned into a shoot-out in a public park where civilians were present.

Officers immediately engaged in a foot pursuit of the suspect with their Tasers drawn. Shortly into the pursuit, the unnamed suspect turned and fired two times at the officers, missing both shots. Officer immediately engaged with lethal force to stop the threat.
After the threat had stopped, the officers moved to render life-saving aid to the suspect who would later be pronounced dead at the scene by EMS first responders.
