Footage reportedly filmed in November 2021 shows Indian troops using three Russian 9M133 Kornet anti tank guided missiles (ATGM) to destroy a Pakistan military bunker along the Line of Control (LoC).
At the time of the strikes, India claimed the operation was retribution for Indian soldiers killed by Pakistani troops in the contested Kashmir region for which India, Pakistan, and China all lay claim.
The 9M133 Kornet was first fielded by the Russians in 1998 and is considered one of their most effective ATGM systems, and its higher cost-per-unit is reflective of that. India purchased approximately 3,000 Kornet missiles and over 250 launchers from Russia between 2003 and 2006.
