ISIS Truck Bomb Gets Triggered By Defenders

Footage from Iraq's war against the Islamic State shows the moment an armored ISIS suicide borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) gets bogged down in loose soil and then detonated by heavy machine gunners of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU)

The car bomb has proven to be one of the Islamic State's most effective weapons. A plethora of propaganda video releases demonstrate how absurdly incompetent they are when it comes to actual infantry type military tactics. However, the SVBIED allows them to turn one of their most useless members into a "hero" who has the potential to kill dozens of people at once.

The use of SVBIEDs has changed over the years, as resources and battlefields evolve. When ISIS initially overwhelmed and killed off the Iraqi Army, they had seemingly unlimited up-armored Humvees, which are garbage as a fighting vehicle, but served the terrorists an almost unstoppable SVBIED platform.

When the supply of working Humvees began to run low, ISIS developed an industry for modifying civilian vehicles with thick steel armor plates that made them hard to maneuver, but they only needed to go a short distance to deliver the payload.
