A hunter-killer team launches a Javelin missile towards a piece of Russian armor, and are quickly spotted by the Russian forces they are ambushing. They receive immediate return fire and are forced to retreat.
We don't have an exact date or time on this video, nor do we know the region it was filmed in. What we do know is that this is what happens when you get a little too complacent in your ambushes and attacks. It's important to remember in warfare the enemy always gets a say, no matter how incompetent that enemy may seem or how better equipped and trained you are. At the end of the day, all wars revolve around on two sides trying to kill one another, and you can always expect the second group in the equation to have the same objective as you, fight, kill, win.
It's unclear exactly how these guys were spotted, but my guess is they got a little too close to their targets, and the second guy who is recording standing out from the tree line is probably what got them spotted. The Russians were probably in the process of going through IFF procedures, but when the javelin was launched the Russian troops had all the PID they needed to return fire.
