News reel footage from the fighting in Vietnam shows Marines conducting extensive ground and air operations in the vicinity of hills 861, 881n and 881.

I had a lot of requests for historical combat footage the other day, so I decided it was time to start off-loading some of what I got here to you guys. This footage was recorded during the first Battle of Khe Sanh in April or May of 1967. It shows Marines from a bunch of different units and military occupational specialties coming together to wage combined arms warfare against enemy forces in the vicinity of hills 861, 881n, and 881.

At the forefront of the fighting is a company of Marines from my first unit in the Marine Corps, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines. Company G, known as Golf Company throughout the GWoT can be seen patrolling and engaging with the enemy at various points in this video. It's interesting to note that 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, just recently furled their colors and retired as a unit this year as the Marine Corps moves to Marine Littoral Battalions.
