Mariupol Tank Battle Recorded from Apartment Window

Footage from the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine shows a pair of main battle tanks engaging armor of an unknown type inside of Mariupol. Imagine looking out your window and seeing this.

As time continues to march forward, and the situation in Ukraine continues to unfold, more and more images from the earliest stages of the invasion are starting to be released. This footage, which was recorded in the first few days of the invasion, shows a pair of tanks engaging unknown armored targets in the distance. It was recorded by a Ukrainian who lives in the city of Mariupol, and there's a good chance they were sitting in their apartment when this happened.

We expect that as more civilians get to safety, footage that they recorded will start to be released. This is because initially they did not have the time to sit down and upload their footage, and because there was an operational security risk involved with releasing the footage as soon as it was recorded. While we don't know the exact date that this footage was recorded, we will always do our best to bring you as much context as possible with every piece of combat footage that we publish in our archive.
