A massive formation of over 20 Russian military rotary aircraft was recorded by a civilian along Russian and Ukrainian boundary lines, and the column included heavily armed attack aircraft, including KA-52 Alligators.
The imagery is eerily similar to activity leading up to Russia's 2014 invasion into Ukraine, at which point they annexed the Crimean peninsula and continue to support an ongoing proxy war in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine.
While Russia's military is considerably more capable and numerous than that of Ukraine, several man portable air defense systems (MANPADS) have been stockpiled by Ukraine in recent months, making these massive flights of helicopters nothing more than juicy targets should they encroach upon Ukrainian defenses.
Although the geopolitical climate is reflective of the eve of Russia's last incursion into Ukraine, this one may end up significantly more costly to the Russian military and absolutely devastating to all Ukrainians.
