Medic Treats Enemy Sniper That Just Shot Him

Already incredible footage of a US Army medic surviving a sniper shot to the chest is made even more compelling by his own words describing how he went on to medically treat that very same sniper that had just shot him.

According to the reports, PFC Stephen Tschiderer, a combat medic, was on patrol in western Baghdad when he became the target of an insurgent sniper. The shot was taken from only 75 meters away and the incident was filmed by the insurgent sniper team.

Fortunately for Tschiderer, his ballistic plate stopped what should have been a fatal hit in his heart and lungs. He reacted immediately, sprinting to cover behind his gun truck and calling out a distance and direction to his teammates.

The US soldiers responded quickly as you can see them giving chase to the panicking sniper team. While the footage of the event ends, the story does not. Apparently, Tschiderer's buddies engaged and killed or captured the enemy sniper team, and the sniper that shot the medic was wounded in the battle.

Without any personal grudge, Tschiderer medically treated the enemy sniper that had just shot him, saving the man's life. Tschiderer is a true professional soldier.
