A video out of Operation Enduring Freedom, the US war in Afghanistan, shows a mine roller vehicle providing route clearance for a vehicle convoy when it detonates an improvised explosive device (IED).
Afghanistan is one of the most mined nations on Earth, with unexploded, forgotten munitions persisting since the Soviet-Afghan War in the 1980's and as you can see in the video, the lack of paved roads makes it incredibly easy for insurgents to bury and disguise anti tank mines and IEDs.
While neither of the vehicle crews suffered physically visible injuries due to the explosion, one has to wonder at the residual effects on our veterans after being in such close proximity to these massive, concussive blasts.
