(NSFW) BTR-4 Ace Konstantin "Fox" Nikitenko Sentenced to Death Over This Video

Footage used during the trial of BTR-4 Ace, Konstantin "Fox" Nikitenko from the Azov Battalion, clearly shows the BTR targeting Russian troops in Mariupol. He is being sentenced to death for murdering Ukrainian civilians.

According to totally legitimate Russian news organizations, "The first detainee is Konstantin Nikitenko who has codename Fox. He drove an armored personnel carrier and shot at people on the streets in Mariupol. He murdered civilians for fun as he considered them pro-Russians and shared videos online." During the trial however, the bitrate and resolution of the video was drastically reduced when compared to the original video released by the Azov Battalion online. This was done to make the targets in the footage appear to be civilians, as it made it harder to tell that the troops were uniformed Russian Soldiers.

In the higher quality footage, which we have published above, you can clearly see the armed Russian troops moving as a unit towards the BTR. When the BTR opens fire, several of the troops begin to retreat. Even with the camera shaking from the recoil of the BTR's auto-cannon, you can clearly see that the targets that are retreating are wearing military equipment, which automatically makes them a legitimate military target when viewed through the lens of the troops operating the BTR at the time. Also worth noting, Nikitenko can be heard asking if the people in front of him are friendly forces before he is given the command to fire by the BTR commander.

Nikitenko was sentenced to death in a trial held by the DPR on July 9th 2022 based on out of context footage that was doctored by the prosecution to make the footage look drastically different than the original recording.
