(NSFW) Mesa PD Detectives Drop Armed Robbery Suspect

This compilation of Mesa PD bodycam footage, with commentary provided by the agency, depicts detectives as they attempt to interdict Ny'Kendreon Pride, who is wanted in connection to three armed robberies. Pride is killed in this incident; therefore viewer discretion is advised.

As the narrating detective explains, the suspect was seen walking across the street and recorded by a local security camera. Mesa PD detectives arrive at his location, and believing him to be armed, throw a flashbang to disorient him. The first depiction of that flashbang occurs at 00:16.

While the officer in the rear passenger side conducts non-lethal tactics, such as the use of the flashbang and LTL rounds, the officer in the front passenger side provides lethal cover. From this position, the officer in the front passenger seat believes he sees a weapon and fires twice. The event begins from his perspective at 00:53. At 01:04, the suspect is seen trying to flee, at which point the officer fires again with his AR, and again at 01:08 as Ny'Kendreon appears to use a low concrete wall as cover. He collapsed with a weapon in-hand. Mesa PD used subsequent commands and LTL rounds to make the suspect drop the handgun, and eventually closed in to retrieve it. The suspect was transported to an area hospital and declared deceased.
