(NSFW) Nashville PD Response to Covenant School Shooter

This footage depicts Nashville Metropolitan Police Department's response to Covenant School shooter Audrey Hale, from the perspectives of Officer Rex Engelbert and Michael Collazo.

Officer Engelbert, armed with a rifle, receives guidance from a school staff member at 0:25 seconds, making entry on the first floor at 01:11 as two officers stack up with him despite his calls for three. At 01:16, he breaches the inner entry door of the first floor, allowing another officer armed with a shotgun to take point. Engelbert becomes third in the stack as he stops to check a door on the left at 01:22. The second officer in the stack holds the hallway as, prompted by Engelbert, the shotgun officer makes entry into a classroom on the right. Clearing the initial classroom, the shotgunner pies into an interior room, clearing it and identifying and clearing a third room (bathroom) at 01:38. As they exfil to the main hallway, officer who was holding the hallway (pistol) now takes point at 01:46. At 01:50, Engelbert identifies a room on the right and clears it as the point man. As he takes the short wall on his left, the shotgunner takes the long wall to the right, going deep into the room. He identifies another small bathroom and opens the door, allowing Engelbert to clear it at 02:03. At 02:16, he instructs one officer to cover the left hallway of a T-shaped junction of the main corridor. He begins clearing doors on the right hallway, leading the team past locked doors before clearing a small office at 02:43. During this clearance, muffled gunfire fire can be heard. at 02:55, Engelbert identifies the sound as coming from the second floor. The officer with the pistol is the first up the stairs to the middle landing but allows Engelbert to take point, presumably due to Engelbert's greater firepower. Engelbert clears the second flight of stairs and immediately buttonhooks right, toward the sound of more shots, at 03:04. At 3:09, he passes a downed victim, who appears to be a child. He joins several other officers already on the second floor, closing in on the gunshots, at 03:14. Here again, more lightly armed officers send Engelbert forward. At 03:25, Engelbert engages the shooter, later identified as Audrey Hale. He fires three times, downing Hale. As the officers, including Collazo, close in on Hale, they continue to fire, verbally warning Hale to stop moving. At 03:38, an officer orders Hale to get her hands away from the gun. Engelbert closes on Hale as Collazo begins stripping the rifle from her.

Officer Collazo's footage begins at 03:51. He immediately makes entry into a stairwell, proceeding to the second floor, armed with a handgun. Finding the door to the second floor locked, he reverses to the first floor at 04:09. He takes point on entry into the first floor at 04:17. Holding the corridor, he sends a rifle-armed officer forward at 04:23. His team joins Engelbert's at 04:34- we can see Engelbert to the right, armed with a rifle. As Engelbert is clearing the rooms to the right, Collazo stacks up with another officer and immediately heads to the stairwell to the second floor, clearing a bathroom on the way. He holds the hallways as officers with long guns take the stairs up. At 05:01, gunfire from upstairs urges Collazo and the other officers to move up. At 05:20, he passes the same victim Engelbert will later pass, as Engelbert is coming up the stairs behind him at this point in the incident. At 05:25, Collazo identifies the fire as coming from the right in a T-junction of the hallways, directing a shotgun-armed officer to take point. At 05:35, Engelbert steps in front of him in the stack, and, going to the left to pie the corner on the right, prosecutes the suspect as previously depicted. Collazo closes in and takes her rifle.
