Graphic, aerial footage coming from the battlefields in Ukraine today, claims to show a Russian suicide drone detonating on a group of Ukrainian infantry.
As shown in the footage, an observation drone reportedly located the group of infantry troops in the Ukrainian town of Pavlivka. Judging by the sequence of events, the observation drone relayed perfect timing for the suicide drone to strike, causing as much damage as possible. In a single instance, the drone appears to have successfully killed/wounded eight to ten troops in one catastrophic hit.
Over the past several months, we have witnessed some brutal footage coming from the Russian-Ukraine conflict; however I believe this is our first instance of a suicide drone being utilized against infantry. Just yesterday, my fellow writer Will Killmore posted a video of a Russian tank being struck by an autonomous, suicide drone.
Again, for several months in the ongoing conflict, these loiter munitions hadn't been utilized (to our knowledge), but now we are seeing back-to-back instances. Could the dynamic of this conflict be turning? Are both sides becoming desperate and resorting to the utilization of these autonomous, loiter munitions?
I'll let you be the judge of that. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
