(NSFW) Russian’s Kinetic Intercept Of Drone Doesn’t Work Out

This quick clip shows a Ukrainian FPV drone being used to attack a Chinese Desertcross buggy, which is carrying three Russian soldiers. Whether by panic or design, one of them throws an empty AK-pattern rifle at the drone, but misses, and soldiers are killed. Viewer discretion is therefore advised.

Although it might be easy to chalk this Russian’s response up to our primate ancestors- “throw big thing at threat”- it’s not as silly an idea as it may appear at first glance. Obviously, the larger surface area of the AK as opposed to a bullet means a greater chance of striking the drone- not unlike a flak cloud. However, even if it was intentional, “the best laid schemes o’ mice and men gang aft agley,” to borrow from Burns. Instinctive or intentional, the throw misses, and the drone strikes home. Two Russians are shown dead when a second FPV drone is sent to entirely destroy the DesertCross vehicle.
