Student cell phone footage recorded by a member of the student-body at Thomas R. Proctor High School in November of 2022 captures the moment one student attacks another with a knife in the hallway. The student being attacked thankfully responds quickly, and is able to prevent a portion of the stabbing and fight off his attacker until a male teacher can arrive to break up the fight.
The attacking student was a still unidentified 17-year-old who was attacking an 18-year-old peer. According to local news report, the student who was attacked suffered multiple knife wounds to his back and hands and was transported to a nearby medical facility by Utica paramedics with non-life threatening injuries.
What's interesting about this case is that police only charged the 17-year-old student with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon. As of today, there has been no follow up coverage on the incident, which was the second stabbing at Thomas R. Proctor High School in 2022.
