Point of view footage from a Ukrainian Soldier clearing a formerly owned Wagner trench line gives us an unprecedented look into the brutality of trench warfare in the modern era of combat.
At some points throughout this, you may actually find it difficult to determine where the dirt ends and the dead bodies start, just a forewarning.
Your Instagram operators aren't going to be able to tell you how to deal with this one. There's no world where the situation you're seeing on camera in this video will ever be something normal that doesn't directly impact the person experiencing it for the rest of their lives. No one in the world has seen violence on this scale in a very long time.
As you watch the video above, try and count the number of dead soldiers laying in the dirt. Then, try and remember that every single one of those people had a life prior to this war. They had mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. They were husbands, and fathers themselves, with sons, daughters, and wives of their own. Now they're a passing set of pixels on a guy's GoPro as he maneuvers through a trench, all because politicians can never be satisfied with the status quo.
If you've ever wondered what combat footage from World War One might look like, it was probably pretty close to this.
