Separatist fighters in Ukraine are maneuvering through a minefield when one of the two detonated a anti-personnel land-mine often referred to as a toe-popper. One of them loses his leg.

If you've been outside the wire in Afghanistan, you know exactly what a toe-popper is. These little landmines litter all of Afghanistan, and you never know when someone is going to get unlucky and step on one. If you've never had the experience of seeing one of these go off on someone in your patrol, you're better off for it, because they're one of the nastiest weapon systems out on any battlefield today. They're specifically designed to take the leg off and leave the wounded maimed.
