Palestinian Civilians stand in the street and watch as a senior Hamas leader's home is destroyed. The IDF used a roof knocking technique to prevent civilian casualties.
The senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya had his home destroyed by the IDF today while a group of civilians watched and recorded the event. It is unclear from the video alone, but it almost sounds like the Palestinians are cheering.
According to IDF reports, they utilized the roof knocking technique to prevent any civilian casualties. For those not in the loop, roof knocking is a technique started by the IDF that involves dropping inert dummy rounds on future targets. This is an indication to civilians in the area that a precision strike may be imminent and that they should evacuate the area. The IDF has used this technique since 2008.
