PDF Fighter Attacks Myanmar Junta Convoy With Carl Gustaf

This quick clip shows an anti-junta People’s Defense Force (PDF) fighter using what appears to be a captured Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle to ambush a junta military convoy.

The Myanmar-made clone of the Carl Gustaf is referred to as the BA (or MA) 84. While the Myanmar junta obviously faces little opposition that would necessitate a tank buster, it fills a light artillery and/or bunker busting role for their forces. Here, the situation is reversed. Anti-junta forces frequently seize junta weapons caches and armories in their operations, allowing them to turn this recoilless rifle against its former owners. Naturally, the Gustaf constitutes a significant force multiplier for a PDF unit.
