Pekon PDF Attacks Myanmar Army Base In Shan State

This observer drone footage shows the Pekon People’s Defense Force unit attacking the local Myanmar Army base in their region. In the ongoing fight against Myanmar’s ruling junta, People’s Defense Forces are analogous to local cells in the French Resistance, or the Irish Republican Army’s Flying Columns.

While attacks on military/junta bases and facilities are fairly common and frequently recorded, the footage tends to be in Go-Pro, first person format. Drones tend to be reserved for bombing and attack roles rather than observation (as compared to Ukraine) which makes this bird’s-eye view of a PDF on the attack comparatively rare. It’s worth noting that the PDF forces outnumber the defenders- the junta is deeply unpopular and frequently attacked in Shan.
