Russian Armor Immolated in Avdiivka

Two Russian IFVs are destroyed by mines in the vicinity of Avdiivka. The two vehicles advance from right to left along an improved dirt road, and the second vehicle in column strikes a mine and explodes. The first vehicle continues, backtracks, and then also strikes a mine with the expected results. Russia has committed significant resources to enveloping Avdiivka and pinching off the Ukrainian salient. Initially the attack achieved surprise and the Russians managed to seize some tactically significant terrain, but mines, accurate and timely artillery fires, and ATGMs have frustrated their attempts to complete the encirclement. Casualties have been horrific, and though some Russian units continue to make small advances Ukrainians are conducting local counterattacks.
