Unconfirmed footage, reportedly recorded by Russian sailors on the deck of the Ropucha-class landing ship, Caesar Kunikov, shows the service members futilely attempting to defend the ship from a swarm of Ukrainian remote controlled bomb boats, also known as unmanned surface vessels.
The Caesar Kunikov was struck multiple times, two of which were recorded in the video, and the ship was sunk. Approximately 80 Russian troops were on board at the time of the attack. Th incident took place on Feb. 14, 2024 just off Alupka, a city on occupied Crimea's southern coast.
We previously published the USV footage from the Ukrainian military, showing the attacks from the bomb boats' point of view. That footage can be viewed HERE.
