Russian Soldier Hunts Ukrainian Drone With Shotgun And RF Sensor

This footage shows how a Russian soldier hunts Ukrainian drones with a shotgun. The use of shotguns as a drone defense is growing in popularity on both sides of the conflict, as, naturally, a shotgun is meant for taking down small, flying prey.

The soldier shown here is using a pump-action shotgun along with some type of RF sensor, which he apparently uses to determine the proximity of a drone. It’s also possible that it’s used to determine which frequencies drones are operating on, so as to avoid shooting down friendlies. At approximately 0:07, he manages to down one- it’s admittedly a little difficult to see, due to the drone’s size and distance. Around a minute later, the drone’s payload explodes.
