This footage, recorded by Ukrainian drones, shows a Russian T-72 tank as it drives at high speed (relatively speaking). Unfortunately for the tank crew, they manage to navigate right into a bomb crater that was allegedly made by the Russian military in the first place. Stranded and unable to move out of the hole, the tank becomes easy pickings for drone-dropped munitions.
This is exactly what is not meant by the term “hull-down position”. The drones provide juxtaposed thermal and standard color views of the punishment meted out to the T-72 crew for their mistake. The tank gets pummeled into a burning wreck before exploding violently at 02:08. It is unclear whether the tank’s crew escaped before the arrival of the munition drones, but they’re probably going to be a damned sight more careful if they get to drive another tank.
