Russians Continue to Innovate New Methods of Landmine Warfare

Reconnaissance drone footage published by Russian sources conducting combat operations near Vovchansk shows the continued usage of landmines as improvised hand grenades. The drone appears to be hovering overhead to keep an eye out for threats to the lone infantryman who is allegedly approaching a Ukrainian position. It is likely that the Soldier has been in constant communications with the drone operator throughout the duration of this operation.
If there's one thing that the Russians do know how to do well, it's landmine warfare. As a result, there is an absolute ton of landmines available to Russian Soldiers on the frontlines. Their combat doctrine calls for the heavy use of landmines, both in the defense and during offensive operations. This evolution towards using them as modified satchel charges to target Ukrainian defensive structures combined with overhead coverage from drones to keep the individual sapper safe is actually pretty ingenious, even if it is fairly risky to the individual Soldier conducting the operation.
