Slovakia Prime Minister Shot In Public

Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot multiple times in public on Wednesday May 15th, 2024 and has been rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The incident took place in the town of Handlova, approximately 100 miles northeast of the capital city of Bratislava.
Footage appears to show the would-be assassin in custody, but his motives for the attack are not clear at the time. Fico has drawn ire from fellow Europeans for criticizing Western support for Ukraine and blaming Ukraine for the Russian invasion.
Additionally, Fico had just formally rejected the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Accord the day prior.
