Ukraine’s Presidential Brigade Fires On Russian Positions With MLRS Technical

This quick clip shows the 2nd Battalion of Ukraine’s Presidential Brigade using a pickup-mounted Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) to fire on Russian positions. The rocket system appears to be a repurposed helicopter rocket pod, which is a fairly common form of technical artillery. The term “technical” refers to any civilian vehicle armed with weapons.

The team shown here is reportedly prosecuting Russian warehouses and logistics buildings in Kharkiv, although the accompanying drone footage of where the rockets actually go certainly seems to suggest they’re firing more in a “general Russian direction” than at anything specific. However, there’s still a certain amount of value in the technical’s ability to fire a salvo and relocate quickly, regardless of accuracy- even if that value is in keeping the enemy distracted and/or taking cover.
