Ukrainian Assault Takes Massive Hits In Zaporizhzhia

Russian drone footage reportedly shows a failed Ukrainian assault in the Zaporizhzhia region which resulted in multiple lost vehicles for the Ukrainian military. The majority of the Ukrainian vehicles shown appear to be mine resistant anti personnel carriers (MRAP) as well as Soviet-era tracked armored personnel carriers, possibly MT-LBs.

Mixed reports from various areas suggest that the much-hyped Ukrainian counter offensive is underway. It's not clear if we are seeing the Ukrainian main assault in action or a feint maneuver to trick the Russians into moving forces away from other areas. The Zaporizhzhia region is notoriously flat and open, making land assaults susceptible to enemy fire.
