Ukrainian forces have received Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems (APKWS) from the US and are already carrying out cross-river surgical strikes on Russian targets in Kherson.
The APKWS guidance attaches to small unguided "dumb" rockets and it turns them into precision-guided munitions that can be fired from both rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, and as demonstrated by the video, ground platforms as well.
While the small host rocket has a limited blast radius, the pinpoint precision of the APKWS upgrade kit makes the munition incredibly lethal to the intended target while also minimizing collateral damage.
It will be interesting to see if the the increase in strike effectiveness if the Ukrainians integrate these systems into their attack helicopter rocket "lofting" sorties.
