Unknown Automatic Grenade Launcher Used to Suppress Russian Targets

Drone video coming out of Bakhmut shows the impacts of an unknown automatic grenade launcher being used to suppress Russian troops. The system is firing from a position of full-defilade.

While it's unclear exactly what type of automatic grenade launcher was used in this video, it's obvious that the system is being used from a position of full-defilade. The only real difference for that type of fire with respect to the two possible weapon systems the Ukrainians could be using to conduct the fires is the round's maximum ordinance and machine gun's rate of fire. We can however tell that it is in fact an automatic grenade launcher due to the rapid strikes of the 40mm rounds near the Russian's position.

Neither of those two differences would effectively matter in this circumstance however, as the shooters have a drone providing them with real time adjustments to get their gun on target. In a world without real time forward observations, this method would become a lot more dangerous for friendly troops in the area unless the shooters had access to a gunner's quadrant and the proper tables of fire.

If you'd like to read more about high angle fire from automatic grenade launchers, check out this link where I wrote a small dissertation on the subject.
