Strange footage from TikTok allegedly shows the Chadian military conducting an amphibious assault against a Boko Haram position. I don't know if we should categorize this as combat or humor.
I'm honestly not entirely sure what's going on here. This is one of those times where I was down the Horn of Africa combat footage rabbit hole on TikTok. From what I can gather, these guys were conducting an "amphibious assault" against a known Boko Haram position.
While this is certainly amphibious, and they do appear to be assaulting something, I'm not entirely sure if this qualifies as a real amphibious assault or not. The non-judgmental guy in me wants to give them props for doing this in the first place, because it takes a hell of a lot of balls to cross open water onto contested ground, but the Marine in me is just cringing too hard. At the same time, while I'm cringing it's important to remember that these dude's probably have a combined total of 60 minutes doing amphibious assaults, and that training probably started the moment they put on their bright orange life vests to conduct this attack.
I guess I'll just leave it to the comments section.
