Hank Askin recorded this video on October 22, 2016 at Frederick Army Air Field in Frederick, Oklahoma. It shows Vince "Nuts!" Speranza, a WWII Veteran, leading some paratroopers in a familiar song.
You can ask any veteran of any war what their favorite thing about the military was, and you'll most likely get one single response from an overwhelming majority of them. "Brotherhood." This video is a prime example of the brotherhood between paratroopers, regardless of which generation they come from, being put out for the entire world to see.
Vince "Nuts!" Speranza was a member of the 101st Airborne throughout World War II where he spent 144 days engaged in direct combat with Nazi Soldiers. He participated in the Siege of Bastogne, and the Battle of the Bulge as a Machine Gunner, and released a book that you can find on Amazon titled "Nuts!" He was most recently interviewed in February of 2021, and appears to still be in good spirits to this day.
